Preventative Dental Check Ups
Preventative dental check ups should occur every 6 months.
At a preventative dental visit we will:
- Check your teeth and gums for signs of tooth decay and gum disease
- Examine your mouth and neck for other health concerns, such as oral cancer
- Take x-rays of your teeth to see if there are any cracks or cavities
- Remove plaque and tarter from your teeth and gums
- Clean, polish and floss your teeth
- Recommend other tests or procedures, based on your age or health history
Mouth Guards
Our practice offers mouth guards to help prevent snoring, protect against teeth grinding, and protective guards for sporting activities.
Fillings
Dental filling is an in office procedure that involves removing the decayed portion of a tooth and then adding filling material to restore the size and shape of the tooth.
Extractions
Dental extraction is an in office procedure that involves the removal of a tooth. It is our priority to provide comfort before, during, and after your extraction procedure. Instructions for preparation and aftercare will be provided.
Common reasons for tooth extraction:
- Tooth trauma
- Tooth decay
- Crowded mouth
- Infection
- Increased risk of infection
Root Canals
Root canal treatment is used to relieve dental pain and prevent extraction. During root canal treatment carefully removes the pulp inside the tooth is carefully removed, the area is cleaned, disinfected and shaped. Finally a filling is placed to seal the space. Instructions for preparation and aftercare will be provided.
Common reasons a root canal could be necessary:
- Inflammation in the roots of a tooth
- Infection in the roots of a tooth
- Deep decay
- Crack or chip in the tooth
- Tooth trauma
